Hyderabad, April 22 (NSS): Education Department Secretary Dr B Janardhan Reddy today said that the government will take action against the staff of Intermediate Board if irregularities are proved. He informed that a committee was formed into the alleged irregularities in Inter results and will take action against those who involved in lapses.
His remarks came at a time when the students and parents are protesting as the police arrested political leaders and student wing leaders at Inter Board where tension prevailed. Janardhan Reddy further said that it was decided to levy Rs 2000 fine on the staff for lapses in valuation of the papers. It will be increased further if necessary and check irregularities if any. He appealed to the students and the parents to avoid panic as the government will not do injustice anyone. The government is considering returning fees to the students if proved lapses after revaluation of exam papers. The secretary expressed concern on students resorting to suicides. He also said that Inter exams are not that important and the students who failed should not end their lives. There are other ways to make better living as the extreme steps will only add to the problems, he added.(NSS)
