Hyderabad, Oct.10 (NSS): BJP national president Amit Shah was accorded a warm welcome at the Begumpet airport when he arrived by a special flight for a day’s visit to the State. He was received by State BJP president Dr K Laxman, former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya, party national general secretary Murlidhar Rao were present.
Later, accompanied by party leaders Laxman and G Kishan Reddy, Amit Shah went to Banjara Hills where he participated in Maharaj Agrasen Jayanti celebrations and garlanded the statue of Maharaj Agrasen. Former chief minister and governor K Rosaiah, caretaker ministers K Tarakarama Rao, Mahd Mahmood Ali, leaders of several Vysya organizations were present.
Amit Shah also visited Sri Shyam Mandir at Kachiguda Railway Station and interacted with Sadhus, who brought to his notice the unpleasant developments taking place at holy Tirumala town. They complained that the State government remained indifferent even as Hindus were being attacked in Telangana. The Sadhus also alleged that the government was shielding the offenders.
Amit Shah addressed a party meeting, Sakhi Kendra incharges at the Exhibition grounds before leaving for Karimangar to address an election meeting christened as “Samarabheri” public meeting at Ambedkar stadium at Karimnagar.
This was his second election meeting in the Telangana State after dissolution of the State Assembly and first meeting in Karimnagar after announcement of poll schedule. (NSS)
