Hyderabad, Sept 22 (INN): The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday dismissed the quash petition filed by Telugu Desam Party leader and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was arrested in the Skill Development Scam case. Naidu had approached the High Court challenging the FIR and remand reports registered against him.
Naidu’s lawyers argued that his name was not included in the FIR filed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) initially, but was added later. They also argued that he was arrested without the Governor’s permission and that the case against him and the remand report were invalid.
The ACB argued that Naidu was arrested after a long investigation and based on all the evidence.
Eminent Supreme Court lawyers Siddharth Luthra and Harish Salve argued on behalf of Naidu, while AAG Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy and eminent Supreme Court lawyer Mukul Rohatgi argued on behalf of the ACB and the government.
The High Court dismissed Naidu’s petition, paving the way for the ACB to continue its investigation against him.
