Hyderabad, July 28 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered officials on Tuesday to take up large scale campaigns to increase public awareness on novel Coronavirus. In a Spandana program on COVID-19 preventive steps, authorities are advised to keep posters at village secretariats, the chief minister said in a videoconference with district collectors and SPs.
YS Jagan said, “We have provided 104, 14410 call centers for any emergencies and also advertised the COVID-19 control room in the district. Officers can call the call centers and monitor the job results, as well as inspect whether they function properly or not while receiving calls.”
He also stated that after a person tests positive for the coronavirus, the person would be sent into home quarantine, COVID-19 care centre, District COVID-19 hospitals, state-level COVID-19 hospital based on the health condition.
“We will refer the patient if home quarantine services are in place or the patient will be referred to the COVID Care Center. The patient in home quarantine will be monitored and a doctor will check regularly to also see whether the patients are taking medications or not. Their wellbeing should be checked regularly,” he said.
Talking about the availability of beds in the county, YS Jagan said the 128 COVID-19 district hospitals have 32,000 beds. A patient can be admitted in 30 minutes, and state-level hospitals have 8,000 beds and will be used for critical care, YS Jagan added.
“The bed will be assigned to the patient within half an hour depending on the health of the patient. Collectors and Joint Collectors must be kept responsible for this. Strict action will be taken against those hospitals which refuse to admit the patients,” he said.
