Hyderabad, May 16 (NSS): Fisheries & Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today directed his department officials to make elaborate arrangements for the prestigious Fish Prasadam distribution program.
The popular Bathina Harinath Goud Family was involved in distribution of the fish medicine since about 173 years and a large number of people make use of it. The distribution of fish medicine will be conducted at Nampally Exhibition grounds for two days from June 8 to 9.
Holding a review meeting at the Secretariat with officials of various departments, the minister instructed them to provide better facilities to the people coming from several States to get Fish Prasadam. He asked the officials to focus mainly on traffic regulation and diversion and smooth flow, sanitation, power supply, drinking water, toilets and sheds for the people thronging the premises from several States and countries. Better coordination among the departments will make success the regular fish prasadam distribution program. In addition to the facilities, the Police department should focus on security and safety of the people during the two-day event, he said.
The minister instructed the officials to set up a special counter for VIPs and adequate number of the counters for general public. The RTC officials, who pressed in 110 buses to the destination last year, were asked to add more fleet of buses for the convenience of the people and the fisheries wing was making arrangements for 1.30 lakh fishlings for the purpose. Water works officials should provide three lakh water pockets, electricity wing with generators for uninterrupted power supply and municipal wing to provide continuous sanitation in and around the premises Exhibition grounds the minister said.
Srinivas Yadav also asked for conducting health camps with four ambulance services at the venue. As usual the services of voluntary organizations should be taken for supply of food and drinking water during the two program of fish prasadam distribution, he added.
