Centre peddling lies from parliament: Vinod Kumar

Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman Boinapally Vinod Kumar

Hyderabad, March 18 (RAHNUMA): Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman Boinapally Vinod Kumar lashed out at the Center for not paying attention to the demands for granting National Status to the irrigation projects built by the Telangana government. He refuted the remarks made by the Union Minister of Water Resources in the Parliament that the Telangana government did not seek national status.

He spoke at a media conference in Ellanthakunta Mandal of Rajanna Sircilla District on Saturday. ‘It is wrong to say that the Telangana government has never sought national status’ he said. He clarified that the Telangana statehood Movement was centred on water, resources and appointments. Minister Harish Rao, who was the Irrigation Minister, reminded many times that he had given applications in writing to the ministers at the Center demanding national status.

BJP president Bandi Sanjay responded and demanded that the union minister should answer the question of national status. It was mentioned that only the Polavaram project was given national status by the then Congress government during the bifurcation of the state.
