Hyderabad, Sept.26 (NSS): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that Chityala (Chakali ) Ilamma’s bravery and dynamism during the Telangana Armed Struggle are inspiring for today’s generation.
Remembering Ilamma’s sacrifices and fighting spirit on the occasion of official celebrations of her birth anniversary on Tuesday, the Chief Minister hailed Ilamma as a democratic activist who fought legal battles in the courts for the realisation of her rights and a symbol of self-respect of the backward communities.
KCR said that Ilamma’s inspiration is very much embodied in the achievement of Telangana and the subsequent development of the new State of Telangana.
Stating that the State government is officially organising Ilamma’s birth and death anniversary to mark her sacrifices, the Chief Minister said the State government is striving for the welfare of people and stood as a role model for the country. Many schemes for the development and welfare of women, BCs and MBCs have already been implemented, he said.
KCR further said that the State government was qualitatively improving the living standards of the backward communities and continuing efforts for the welfare of BC, Most Backward Classes ( MBCs) and women.(NSS)
