Cong. recalls Rajiv Gandhi services to nation

Hyderabad, May 21 (NSS): A memorial meeting was organized here to recall services of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 28th  death anniversary on Tuesday. TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, MLC T. Jeevan Reddy, former PCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah, former Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao and former minister Shabbir Ali took part in the program.

 Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali said Rajiv Gandhi had brought about a lot of changes in the country during his five year career. He said it was Rajiv Gandhi, who brought computers and right to vote for the youths.

He also said reforms introduced by Rajiv Gandhi had led to release of funds directly to the village panchayats in the country. Targeting the BJP and RSS leaders, Ali said the leaders from the two organizations were abusing all national leaders like Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi, who sacrificed their lives for the country.

MLC Jeevan Reddy said Rajiv Gandhi provided right to vote to all youngsters, who had crossed  18 years in the county. (NSS)
