Congress brought about green revolution in country, says Ponnala

Hyderabad, Nov.20 (NSS): Former minister and former APCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah today said the credit for bringing green revolution in the country went to the Congress party. He said the policies made by the Congress party related to agriculture sector in the country brought about green revolution in the country. He also said the country was now able to export food grains to over 126 countries in the world.

Addressing the media here, Laxmaiah alleged that the Rythu Bandhu scheme launched by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has turned out to be a product for publicity. He alleged that the farmers were not getting Rythu Bandhu benefit. He also alleged that the Chief Minister had confined himself either to his camp office Pragathi Bhavan or his farmhouse instead of solving people’s problems.

Claiming that farmers in the State were facing a lot of problems, he asked the members of Rythu Samanvaya Samiti as to what they were doing when the farmers were facing crisis in the State. He said there were no allocations for providing minimum support price to the farmers in the State budget. He made it clear that the Congress would stand by the farmers and people and fight on their problems.

On the ongoing strike by RTC workers, Laxmaiah ridiculed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s heart was not melting even after 45 days of the strike. He demanded that the Chief Minister solve the problems faced by the RTC employees.
