DGP warns against forcible evacuation of hostels

Hyderabad, March 25 (INN): Director General of Police Mahender Reddy has warned of stern action against the managements of hostels/PGs if they pressurise the inmates to vacate the premises at this juncture when COVID-19 Lock Down is on.

“All Hostel/PG Managements have been directed to continue to accommodate and house the students without any disruption. Serious Action will be taken against any Hostel/PG Managements who violate this norm. All SHOs divisional ACsP, Zonal DCsP along with GHMC Officials have been directed to hold meetings with the Hostel Managements and ensure compliance. Since lock down is under implementation, no permission/NOC shall be granted in this regard for any movement of the people across the States till further orders in the overall interest of public health and public safety,” the DGP said in a press release on Wednesday.

The DGP also directed the police officers to make a note and take action accordingly without any deviation.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali has ordered the State police to issue permit certificates on fast-track basis.

The Home minister inspected East Zone areas in the wake of lockdown situation on Wednesday. He reviewed the local situation and interacted with public gathered in office premises who have applied for permit certificates to go to their native places.
