Hyderabad, Nov 9 (INN): Dharmapuri Arvind, MP of Nizamabad, challenged Finance Minister T Harish Rao to come forward for a debate on central state assistance. He said that if it was proven that Telangana had central assistance, the government would have to resign and pursue new elections and not just the finance minister.
Arvind reiterated his stance at a press conference at the BJP State headquarters here on Monday, saying that over the past four years, the union government has so far released Rs 14,917 crore for the distribution of rice through fair price shops. Coming heavily on the TRS government, he said that only if the government took measures without caring about political outcomes could the infrastructure of Hyderabad city be improved. He recalled that Narendra Modi had ordered the demolition of two illegal structures in 143 towns as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2005.
Accusing the TRS of playing MIM ‘s second fiddle, he said that without fear of Majlis, the government couldn’t even move the pan shop in the old town. In coping with the flood situation, he accused the government of being incompetent. Expressing confidence in the BJP candidate’s by-election win in Dubbak, he predicted that the TRS would lose the next general election.
