Hyderabad, Jan 30 (NSS): Ruthu Bandu Samithi Chairman Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said the farmer suicides in Telangana have reached the zero level and it has become a reality because of the pro-farmer policies being adopted by the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy along with Government Whips Guvvala Balaraju and MS Prabhakar and MLC Gangadhar Goud said that since the formation of Telangana State, the number of farmer suicides have come down by 400 percent and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar once announced in the House of Lok Sabha stating that the Telangana State is no more having the suicides of farmers. In addition to this, the National Crime Record bureau report and the Niti Ayog have informed that the farmer suicides have almost been stopped in Telangana, he pointed out.
Palla Rajeshwar Reddy alleged that some media houses, few fake NGOs and BJP leaders were spreading lies against the farmers’suicides and were deliberately trying to tarnish the image of the State government despite the fact that there were no farmer suicides in Telangana.
He said that BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay was spewing venom against the State government with baseless remarks and asked him to prove his claim of 10,000 farmer suicides in Telangana
