
Hyderabad, Sept.26 (NSS): Former DRDO chairman and Technical Advisor to Defence Minister Dr. G Satish Reddy joined the Green India Challenge by planting saplings at Doctors Scientist Hostel, Secunderabad on Tuesday.
Accompanied by Green India Challenge founder and Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar, Satish Reddy planted saplings on the premises of Doctors Scientist Hostel.
“Pollution is the most dangerous substance in the world today. Pollution emitted from the vehicles are playing a big havoc to the Earth. Pollution is not only damaging natural resources like air and water, but also has ruined every aspect of everyone’s life. The prevailed situation forced us to spend billions of dollars to discover livable places on other planets. The only solution to address the increasing pollution is massive plantation and creating an awareness of the environment,” Satish Reddy said.
On the occasion, the former DRDO chairman
extended his heartfelt congratulations to MP Santosh Kumar for taking up the nationwide plantation programme through the Green India Challenge and added that it was every one’s responsibility to join and make Santhosh Kumar’s endeavour for Green India a big success.
“It is a delightful moment that Satish Reddy, who made India proud in the defence sector, has joined the Green India Challenge and planted saplings. Satish Reddy’s inspirational words will definitely encourage many to take part in the plantation programme,” MP Santosh said.
Green India Challenge founder members Raghava, Karnakar Reddy and other scientists were also present.
