Hyderabad, Aug.18 (NSS): Four floodgates of Srisailam reservoir were opened today following heavy flood water inflow from catchment areas.
The authorities opened Floodgates 5, 6, 7, 8 and one lakh four thousand of cusecs of water is being discharged. The FWL of the project is 885 ft, but at present the water level has reached to 881ft prompting A P government to take a decision to discharge water from the reservoir.
At present the inflow into Srisailam reservoir is 3,62,098 cusecs of water and outflow is 1.03,857 cusec of water.(NSS)
