(RAHNUMA) GATE is taken up by students to pursue full-time postgraduate courses in the field of Engineering. An aspirant who wants to learn Engineering in depth generally opts for this examination and prepares for it. Though the purpose of GATE 2021 is for admissions to Engineering courses primarily, but recently few new subjects are introduced in the syllabus.Thus, it has opened new options of study as well. Along with that AICTE has announced the GATE / GPAT scholarships for meritorious aspirants.
GATE 2021: Dates, New Subjects & Scholarships
GATE 2021 has been scheduled to be conducted between 5 to 7 February and 12th to 14th February. GATE 2021 syllabus has been changed this year with the adding of new subjects. Two subjects that have been added this year are Environmental Science and Engineering (ES), Humanities and Social Science (XH).

AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has recently announced the GATE/GPAT Scholarship for postgraduate students. The announcement is made for M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch courses for the academic year 2020-21. The scholarship will be provided to the students from the date of commencement of the date of admission. AICTE GPAT/GATE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- Aspirants must have the GPAT/GATE score during the admission to stand for the scholarship.
- Students should be pursuing full-time courses at the university.
- Candidates should be admitted to the AICTE approved colleges or institutes.
- Aspirants should intake admission in courses like M.Tech, M.E, and M.Arch.
- Students who have qualified GATE and belong to the category OBC are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Students who have passed the exam under the category of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PeD need to have a category certificate to apply for this scholarship.
AICTE GATE/GPAT Scholarship Application Process
Aspirants have to register themselves on the official website of AICTE for filling the scholarship application form. It requires basic information of an interested candidate like bank details, institute id, student ID card, and date of birth. Do not forget to check the information twice before submitting it because the wrong information can create an error.
With GATE 2021 just a few months away, aspirants must gear up with their preparation. The new subjects will open gates to study Humanities and Environmental Science as well. This is in fact a welcome change. Aspirants must also take care of their health during this preparational phase.
