Hyderabad (Rahnuma) : Industrial visit is one of the key parts of curriculum at GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, during which students visit companies and get insight regarding the internal working environment of a company and how a company functions, as well as useful information related to the practical aspects of the educational course which cannot be visualized in lectures.
B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering II and III year students of GITAM visited Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited on Thursday. The objective of the visit was to acquaint students with the working of Metro Rail
. The students visited Metro Railway stations, Key Operations area, Control Rooms, Workshop, Maintenance Depots and so on. Students learned the operations, cutting-edge technology of Metro Rail. Hyderabad Metro Rail operations are from Miyapur to LB Nagar in Red Corridor and from Nagole to Ameerpet in Blue Corridor covering 46 Km distance with 40 stations.
HMR has crossed 30 million cumulative ridership milestone on November 14 in 351 days. It runs nearly 550 trips covering around 13,000 km daily. Faculty coordinators Rafiuzzama Shaik, Jagadeshwar Kandula and some 65 students participated in this visit. (NSS)
