Israel says Lebanese drone enters Israeli airspace

JERUSALEM (Rahnuma):  Israel’s military said on Wednesday that it has identified a drone entering Israeli airspace before returning to Lebanon.

Israeli troops observed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) “infiltrating Israeli airspace from Lebanon before returning shortly thereafter,” said Israeli military spokesperson in a brief statement.

“The UAV was monitored by the troops,” the spokesperson added, without elaborating on the rare case.

Israel has blamed Iran of flying drones at the vicinity of its disputed border with Syria. In 2018, Israeli forces intercepted a vehicle which they said was a military Iranian drone.

The recent drone was observed hours after Syria accused Israel of carrying out another attack on military positions in southern Syria.

Israel, which has acknowledged carrying out hundreds of airstrikes in Syria, did not comment on the recent attack.
