Hyderabad, Oct.13 (NSS): Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today slammed the Opposition parties for hatching a conspiracy to defame the TRS Government on the RTC strike though Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has been trying to strengthen the RTC and gave Rs 3,303 crore to it.
Addressing mediapersons at TRSLP office here, Dayakar Rao said the TRS government did not promise to merge the TSRTC into it. He also reiterated that the TRS leadership never said it would merge or privatize the RTC. He claimed that the RTC employees’ unions’ JAC was under the negative influence of the Opposition parties. Accusing the Congress and the BJP of trying to misguide people by backing the illegal RTC strike, he expressed displeasure at the two national parties for launching misinformation campaign against the State government for political mileage.
As the RTC strike was is not legal and engineered by the Opposition parties, he said the State government has made alternative arrangements for the common people to reach their destinations. The strike has caused much inconvenience to the people, he deplored. Errabelli asked whether the States being ruled by the Congress and the BJP governments have merged their RTCs into the governments. In the past, these two parties faced ire of the people in the Assembly and local bodies’ elections for trying to stall Kaleshwaram lift project works by moving courts.
