Hyderabad, Feb.17 (NSS): Finance Minister T Harish Rao today said that he is fortunate to release water for Yasangi crops in Siddipet and adjoining areas from Kaleshwaram project. He told media persons after releasing the water for crops at a program from Ranganayak Sagar project which gets Godavari waters from Kaleshwaram.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao turned his dream true by offering water during Yasangi season, he said. The minister said that in AP state this region did not get water for 20 lakh acres for many decades.
However in the TRS regime by KCR we are able to give water to 50 lakh acres of crops in this region, he claimed. Thus the dream of the chief minister turned a reality and I am fortunate to release water the finance minister said.
Harish Rao extended thanks to the chief minister for construction of Kaleshwaram project and getting water to all needed areas for crops in the state. We will develop the agriculture sector and witness a golden harvest, Harish Rao said. It is a great opportunity to give water to Siddipet and nearby areas which were parched during AP rule.
