King Salman decrees promotion of 100 judges

RIYADH (Rahnuma):  King Salman issued a royal decree on Tuesday promoting 100 judges at various levels in the Justice Ministry.

Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council Waleed Al-Samaani said the royal decree is part of the continuous care and support of King Salman to the Saudi judicial system.

In 2019, the ministry has already issued 774 licenses for legal practices, 619 for male lawyers and 155 for female lawyers.

The ministry recently announced that the total number of lawyers registered with the ministry has reached 6,270, including 487 female lawyers. In order to improve its performance, the Justice Ministry has launched several online services.

One of the new e-services enables clients to inquire about their power of attorney (PoAs) and their validity, terminate unwanted ones, and find out about the agencies that have checked the validity of any of their PoAs.

Another e-service enables government agencies to verify PoAs online through the “Yesser” program, the universal access number 920025888, the ministry’s portal (www.moj.gov.sa), and its official app.

The new system abridges about 70 percent of procedures and directs clients straight to the assigned notary’s office without having to go through the data entry hall.
