Hyderabad, October 7, 2023: K&R Rail Engineering Limited, a leading EPC Company based in Hyderabad and listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the world’s longest Cable Car Project in Nepal. The project, valued at an estimated $500 million, is a collaboration with M/s Muktinath Darshan Private Limited, the Concessionaire designated by the Government of Nepal. This ambitious initiative will connect the sacred Muktinath Temple located in Nepal’s Gandaki province.
Mr. Kalra, President of K&R Rail Engineering Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that the Nepalese government has already granted all requisite approvals for the endeavor. K&R Rail Engineering Limited will undertake the construction of the 84.32-kilometer Passenger Cable Car Line, which is set to become the longest of its kind globally.
The Cable Car Project is slated to feature a total of 20 stations, including nine mandatory boarding and de-boarding points, eight optional stops, and three technical stations. This monumental undertaking is expected to significantly ease the journey for hundreds of thousands of devotees who annually trek to an altitude of 3,700 meters to reach the revered Muktinath Temple, renowned for offering salvation to pilgrims.
Upon completion, the project will provide a seamless and convenient mode of transportation to the Muktinath Temple, sparing visitors from arduous treks across hilly and rugged terrain. Additionally, tourists from around the world will have the opportunity to savor cable car rides while enjoying the breathtaking views of the region.
