KTR makes surprise inspection to assess ongoing works

Hyderabad, March 4 (NSS): Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Saturday made a surprise inspection of various ongoing works in the city and gave instructions to the officials.

At the first, Minister KT Rama Rao inspected the works of steel bridge which is being constructed at the cost of nearly Rs. 426 crores and directed the officials to complete them in three months.

Under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP), the GHMC is constructing a 2.8 km-long four-lane bi-directional steel bridge from Indira Park to VST.

On the occasion, the Minister said the public safety should be given priority during the execution of works and instructed the civic body to coordinate with the traffic police to impose traffic diversions needed for the purpose.

The works related to the steel bridge should be completed in three months. If there is any need for additional man power, you can engage them and complete the works within a stipulated period, KTR told the officials.

The proposed project will give relief from traffic congestion to lakhs of people and  will ease the flow of traffic at RTC cross-roads, KTR pointed out.

Later, the Minister inspected the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) works at Hussain Sagar surplus nala and assessed the retaining wall works being taken up at Ashok Nagar.

Stating that a huge amount of funds has been allocated for the Hussain Sagar surplus nala, KTR said the construction of retaining wall would protect low lying areas from flood water from the lake and asked the GHMC officials to complete the works before monsoons set in
