
Hyderabad, Feb.7 (NSS): Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao held a review meeting with officials on the development of old city here on Tuesday.
Minister for Home Mohmood Ali, Chevelle MP Ranjit Reddy, AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Special Chief Secretary Municipal Aravind Kumar and senior officials from GHMC, HMDA, Water works, Energy and District Collector attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister KT Rama Rao said that the State government was spending crores of rupees for the development of the old city and it was mainly focusing on strengthening of road networks.
As part of the government’s action plan to strengthen the road networks in the old city, many flyovers have been constructed and roads have been expanded. The development works worth hundreds of crore rupees are still going on at various places in the old city. In addition to this, the State government has taken up various measures to supply drinking water to all the households and has spent sofar over Rs.1200 crores for strengthening the drinking water system. The drinking water is being supplied to about 2.5 lakh households at free of cost, KTR pointed out.
