Hyderabad, June 3 (NSS): CPI State secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao today urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to regularise contractual teachers working in 12 government universities in the State. He wrote an open letter to the CM on the issue.
In his letter, Sambasiva Rao told the Chief Minister that the teachers had been working as contractual faculty in 12 universities of the State for the past 25 years. He stated that in the government higher education system in the State, the contract teachers were providing a lot of support to the students studying in them as contractual faculty. He also said the contract teachers had been working in many ways over the last 25 years extending their services in the fields of administration, education and research. Stating that the Telangana State Government had issued a circular in 2015, he said the certificates of the teachers were verified to regularise their service and added that the process was not completed so far.
He said at present, there were 1335 contractual teachers working in the 12 universities in Telangana State and added that they have all the qualifications for the regularization. (NSS)
