KUWAIT CITY, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) — Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Thursday stressed the significance of developing the army units and sectors in line with the “Kuwait 2035” vision.

He said it is important to pay much attention to military scientific research in order to upgrade the army’s combat efficiency, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense said in a press release.

He called for enabling the civil society to get involved in the military philosophy with military institutions to address looming challenges and crises.

Noting that the women’s role should not be ignored, he pointed to serious objective studies aiming at allowing women to work side by side with men in the national military service.

The newly appointed first deputy prime minister and defense minister urged all army units and sectors to work sincerely and dedicatedly for the sake of the nation.

In February 2010, with an aim to change the country’s long-existed oil-reliant economic structure, the Kuwaiti government unveiled “Kuwait 2035,” a national development strategy, hoping to build the country into a trade and financial hub.
