Minister calls upon NRI doctors to serve mother land

Hyderabad, March 4 (NSS): Minister for Health T Harish Rao has called upon the NRI doctors of Telangana, who have settled in various countries across the world, come forward and serve the people of the State with their expertise.

Health Minister Harish Rao on Saturday felicitated the NRI doctors and nurses of Telangana at Nizam’s Institute Of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here on Saturday.

A 10-member team of NRI doctors and nurses led by Dr Ramana, a London-based doctor, performed rare heart surgeries on children who were suffering from severe heart diseases at the NIMS from February 27 to March 4.

On the occasion, Minister Harish Rao appreciated the NRI doctors for their voluntary service and said that other NRI doctors should take inspiration from the team of Dr. Ramana for serving the mother land.

The Minister said the State government is working sincerely to improve the health facilities in Telangana and as part of its endeavour, it is constructing four super speciality hospitals around the State capital and another 2000 bedded super speciality hospital in Warangal.

The super speciality hospitals are being constructed at the cost of Rs.6,000 crores and the State government is committed to complete the construction of all hospitals within a stipulated period, Harish Rao said.
