
Hyderabad, March 31 (NSS): Ministers Harish Rao, Prashanth Reddy, Koppula Eshwar, Mahmood Ali and Srinivas Yadav, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Laxmi on Friday inspected the ongoing works of 125-foot high and 45ft wide bronze statue of Dr Ambedkar, which is taking shape on the Tank Bund PV Marg Necklace Road route in the city.
As Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to unveil the statue on April 14 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the Ministers inspected the ongoing works. The Ministers moved around the construction area and also inspected the works of a 100 seated capacity amphitheatre which is being constructed at the bottom of the statue.
They also enquired about the progress of landscaping and other civil works being done in the precincts of the statue. Apart from the construction of the statue, other facilities, including landscape area, rock gardens, plantation, designed sandstone polls and main entrance clouding, granite flooring and latest audio and video equipment are being provided on the premises. On the occasion, the officials were directed to take steps to expedite the ongoing works and complete them in a stipulated period.
