Hyderabad, May 8 (NSS): DOST notification for seats in degree colleges for the academic year 2018-19 in Telangana was released on Tuesday. The authorities made several changes keeping last year’s problems in view.
Higher Education Commissioner Naveen MIttal has informed that the admission process will held in three phases. Mittal released the notification along with DOST convener Prof. Limbradri, Higher Education Chairman Papi Reddy, vice-chancellor Venkata Ramana today at Higher Education office. The first phase admissions will be held on June 6, second phase on June 19 and final phase will be held on June 30.
He made it clear that intra-college changes will be allowed after the start of colleges. He told that EAMCET will be linked to DOST resulting in the admissions of the students who got engineering seats will automatically abolished. It will allow the students, who didn’t get seats, to get seats easily. He explained that 74 helping centers were set up for the sake of DOST across the state. There was no need to the students to go to Mee Seva centers to apply for DOST from their residences if they have aadhaar linked phone numbers. Papi Reddy said that the students have to register their names and web options from May 10 to May 26. The students also have the chance to register their names from May 27 to May 29 with fine Rs.400, he added.
