JEDDAH (Rahnuma) : Saudi Arabia denied Friday that it had canceled the passports of two sisters who reportedly ran away to Georgia.
“Referring to the cancellations of the passports of citizens Maha and Wafa Zayed, whom are currently staying in Georgia, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia confirms that their passports are valid,” the Kingdom’s embassy in Georgia said on Twitter. “Any current allegations that their passports have been canceled are incorrect.”
The sisters reportedly claimed on social media that the Saudi government had canceled their passports.
Media reports, which gave their names as Wafa and Maha Al-Subaie, said the two sisters had applied for asylum in Georgia.
