(Rahnuma) Industrial and automotive battery maker Amara Raja Batteries Limited (ARBL) laid the foundation stone for its third greenfield plant at Amara Raja Growth Corridor in Chittoor district.
State Minister for Industries, Food Processing, Agri Business, Commerce and Public Enterprises N. Amaranatha Reddy laid the foundation stone for the facility on Monday according to a press statement from the company. The company is scheduled to invest about Rs. 700 crore to manufacture 6.5 million units per annum. At its full capacity, the facility is expected to make 10.8 million units and employ 1,300 people. The company has recently collaborated with Johnson Controls to import advanced battery technologies for higher performance.
