Hyderabad, June 2 (NSS): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has informed that the State government will launch the Gruhalakshmi scheme in July, next month.
The Gruhalakshmi scheme scheme is designed to grant Rs 3 lakh to homeless women to help them build a house on their own land.
Addressing the Formation Day celebrations at the Secretariat here on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the State government had decided to spend Rs.12,000 crores for the implementation of Gruhalakshmi scheme this year and Rs.3 lakh rupees would be given to the beneficiaries in three phases under the scheme.
Stating that the Telangana State has unveiled a golden era in the welfare sector with a slogan of ” create wealth and distribute it,”, the Chief Minister said the Telangana per capita income was just Rs.1,24,104 since the formation of the State. However, due to their tremendous efforts and hardwork, the State achieved significant development and its per capita income increased to Rs.3,17,115. Telangana’s per capita income is much higher than the national average and it is also far ahead compared to the bigger States in India, KCR explained.
He further said that the Telangana State was progressing ahead with a 155 percent growth rate despite the economic crisis caused by the Corona pandemic and demonitisation.
The Chief Minister said that since 2014, the Telangana had achieved a significant growth in all the major sectors and it’s GSDP was increased from Rs.5,05,849 crores to Rs.12,93,469 crores.
To mark the occasion of Telangana’s 10 th Formation Day celebrations, the State government has decided to encourage for the inclusive growth of communities depending on the traditional occupations by extending a substantial financial assistance and is now offering one lakh rupees to Rajaka, Nayee Brahmin, Vishwa Brahmin, Kummari and Medara communities this year, KCR informed.
Stating that the Telangana State has achieved the spectacular achievement in the irrigation sectors by constructing of major and medium irrigation projects, Chief Minister said that about 75 lakh acres of agriculture land was now having irrigation facility and the State government was committed to increase the ayacut area upto 1.25 crore acres in the days to come.
