Hyderabad, June 8 (INN): Tribal, Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavati Rathod said that Telangana is making excellent progress in all fields under the rule of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. She inaugurated the Fish Food Festival organized under the auspices of the Department of Fisheries as part of the Decade Celebrations of Telangana at the NTR Stadium in the Mahabubabad district centre.
Speaking on the occasion, she reminded that after the formation of the state, the government has taken up construction projects and restoration of ponds on a large scale. She praised that this program has given a revival to the farmers and the caste-specific workers who depended on the ponds along with agriculture.
With the vision of CM KCR, Telangana became number one in all fields in the country, she claimed. She said that cultivation has increased to 19 lakh acres through the Kaleshwaram project. She said that two crops were grown in a year. The ponds were completely dried up due to the negligence of the previous rulers.
She said that the fishery wealth of the state has increased from the level of importing fish to the level of exporting it to other countries today. The Gangaputras claimed that their livelihood of the Gangaputras has increased due to the distribution of crores of free fishlings for the pond. It was revealed that the state government was implementing various schemes to beautify and strengthen rural areas.
Along with the minister, MP Maloth Kavitha, ZP Chairperson Kumari Angot Bindu, MLA Banoth Shankar Naik, Illandu MLA Haripriya, Fisheries District Officer Nagamani and officials and public representatives participated in this program. (INN)
