TPCC urges CEO to convene all parties’ meeting to discuss PSEs’ anomalies

TPCC vice-president G. Niranjan

Hyderabad, Feb.7 (NSS): TPCC vice-president G. Niranjan on Monday wrote a letter to Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, IAS, and requested him to convene a meeting of all political parties to discuss about various anomalies with regard to deletion of Photo Similar Entries (PSEs) and linking of Aadhar with Voter ID card.

The Congress senior leader requested the Chief Electoral Officer to direct all the district election authorities to submit the form 6B details to CEO and political parties. He stated that as a first step, the  EC had undertaken the deletion of Photo Similar Entries within the assembly constituency and published the final voters list on January 5. “But we have found that Photo Similar Entries within the assembly constituency are existing in the final voters’ list. We would like to know the reason for this lapse?:, he added.

Stating that the EC has taken up deletion of Photo Similar Entries across the assembly constituencies within the State, Niranjan requested the CEO to explain the process to be adopted in this regard in deleting Photo Similar Entries across the constituencies within the State. He further stated that the Election Commission, vide its letter no.30/2022-ERS dated August 8, 2022 informed that submission of Aadhar number in all the registration forms, including form-6 is purely voluntary. But as the EC is insisting for the link of Aadhar with voter ID card, the district election authorities are linking Aadhar with voter ID card without seeking the consent of concerned voter and without obtaining form 6B. They are doing this by manipulating the Aadhar data available with them
