
Hyderabad 29 Oct 2019 (Rahnuma) Miles and miles away from the country, a small diaspora of Turkish Community in Hyderabad celebrates their National Day Yesterday with joy and fervour here in Hotel Trident, Hi-Tech City.
The event, a low key affair, has witnessed the presence of Consul General of Republic of Turkey Dr. Adnan Altinors, Advisor to Telangana Government A.K. Khan, Visiting Chef Osman Cavus from Turkey, Consul General Islamic Republic of Iran Haqbeen Khomni, Secretary Education Department Omer Jaleel, Diplomat Officer for Consul General Iran Haqbeen Khomni Mr. Mahdi Khurasani, Board Member Salar Jung Museum Zakir Hussain, Editor Sada-e-Hussaini Syed Jaffer Hussain beside few other dignitaries and persons for different media houses.
Addressing the gathering, Consul General Dr. Adnan Altinors said “Turkey and Hyderabad share cultural ties for several decades. Both the countries have first royal families who ruled over the city having 400 years old culture and tradition. Our interpretation of Islam is quite similar. We promote mutual respect for cultures and rejects polarization and extremism.
Expressing that Turkey and India has deep rooted friendship and represents mosaic of cultures, he said “The basis of our co-operations and establishing new partnership is solid and promising. India is Turkish second largest trading partner in Asia pacific region. Over the last 18 months our trade cooperation has reached to 8.7 billion USD from 6.4 billion USD. Still there is a great potential to increase bilateral, trade and investments.”
With its historical, he continued, cultural and natural attractions, Turkey became a new popular destination for Indian people. “With every moving year the number of visitors to Turkey increased. In 2018, we received 100.47 thousand tourists from India and this figure is expected to exceed 200 thousand this year, he asserted.
To boost the relationship between Turkey and India, he insisted for direct flights to Ankara to scale up tourist from New Delhi and Hyderabad. Earlier he read a note of thanks from President Tayyip Erdogan.
Congratulating Turkey and its citizens on the 96th anniversary of the republic day, A.K. Khan in his speech, said “India and Turkey shares centuries old relationship, very strong and formidable branch of bonding and people to people contact.
Highlighting the historical bonding between two nations, he said, “for seven centuries both the countries enjoys strong cultural connect unequivocal. Now, apart from this cultural relationship and tourism, the new stress is being added in the field of industry trade, commerce and investment. It has bound to promote in future as the city of Hyderabad became a global destination for attracting investments. Apart from many countries, Turkey also investing in several sectors thereby consolidating academic field and promoting mutual benefit and growth.
Explaining that the Telangana Government, for its ambitious “International Islamic Cultural and Convention Centre” at Hyderabad has roped in Turkey for architectural and cultural models, he said “Soon a delegation from State would visit Ankara to study its cultural heritage and to see how we can incorporate them here at Hyderabad.”
Later the guests and the participants were served with array of delicious dishes and desserts that distinguished Turkey from other world.
