Unseasonal rain wrecks havoc in all districts

Hyderabad, May 3 : Unseasonal rain created havoc across the Telangana State on Thursday. Trees fell on roads at several places across the State due to gales. Vehicular movement stranded at several places due to fallen trees on roads.

Power supply was also affected in towns and villages across the State. Food grains soaked in the rain water in grain purchase centers. Mangoes fell down due to gales. The rain occurred across the erstwhile Warangal district. The people of Warangal, Kazipet and Hanmakonda faced hardships due to rain with gales. Metal sheets of Warangal Railway Platform were blown off due to gales. Several trees fell on the roads in Warangal, Narsampet, Mulugu and others.

Patients in MGM hospital faced hardships due to breakdown of power supply. Farmers cursed their fate due to destruction of their corn grain in Enumamula market yard. Grain and corn was also soaked in rain water in Parakala agriculture market. Paddy crop was destroyed in Narmetta, Tharigoppula in Janagaon district.

In Khammam district, crops were destroyed due to rain in Kallur mandal. Transport of grains was stopped due to non-availability of lorries. He  local TDP MLA demanded that the State government purchase the soaked grains by paying minimum support price.

Mancherial district, Mandamarri and Chennur received heavy rain with gales. Power supply broke down due to fall of power pillars. Several mandals in Karimnagar district received rain with gales. Crops were soaked in rain water in Dharmapuri, Velgaturu, Choppadandi, Manthani and Kamanpur mandals. Rain created havoc in Bibi Nagar in Yadadri Bhongir district. The food grains in agriculture markets were soaked in rain water.
