JEDDAH: US Ret. Gen. Jack Keane thanked young Saudi and UAE leaders for limiting Iran’s expansion in the region, especially in Yemen.
“(I am) thankful to (Crown Prince) Mohammed bin Salman from Saudi Arabia… and Mohammed bin Zayed (crown prince of Abu Dhabi)… both are young people, both are determined to deal with this threat they have pushed back on,” Keane said in Paris at the annual meeting of the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI), also known as Free Iran.
He added that Iran’s strategy is to control the region after pushing US forces out. “Iran is moving steadily toward regional hegemony, and we must stop it,” he said. “We meet as people who respect freedom.”
