US swimmer Comerford happy with record breaking in short course worlds in China

WASHINGTON (Rahnuma): Swimming star Mallory Comerford felt happy as she teamed up with three American girls to win the 4x50m medley relay gold and set up a new world record at the Swimming World Championships (25m) held in China on Tuesday.

“So excited, so awesome. Just being able to do it with these girls, it’s so much more fun to do it with them than by yourself. They get me pumped up. I knew that we were in a good place and I was just ready to go,” said Comerford, who swam the anchor leg in the event.

The United States, consisting of Olivia Smoliga, Katie Meili, Kelsi Dahlia and Comerford, swam to 1 minute and 42.38 seconds to set up the new world record, followed by China on 1:44.31 and the Netherlands on 1:44.57.
