(RAHNUMA) US President Donald Trump listed WWE owner, president and former part-time wrestler Vince McMahon this week as one of his advisers to reopen the country’s economy.
No, we won’t be coming back to the WrestleMania 23 match in which Donald Trump received a Stone Cold stunner Steve Austin and helped shave Bald Vince McMahon, or at least we hope not.
Instead, McMahon is one of many “key” figures in a number of industries that include sports, agriculture, banking, retail, and technology, advertised as members of the Great American Economic Revival Industry Group.
This comes after the news that WWE has been listed under “key companies” who must continue to do their jobs in these uncertain times.
So uncertain that WWE fired dozens of wrestlers and off-screen talent yesterday in the company’s biggest showdown in a while.
WWE hosted weekly shows, including RAW, SmackDown! and NXT, from their Performance Center, as well as hosting WrestleMania for two nights in front of no fan.
Big names will form this team, including Amazon owner Jeff Bezos, Tesla owner Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook, among others, including Mark Zuckerberg and Dana White.
Informing the world press, Trump said, “Now we have a list of people I will talk to in the very short period of time, in many cases, tomorrow.”
“We have a list of different industries which I will discuss, which I will meet over the phone, because we don’t want people to be traveling right now.
“These are the names we have on our list. The names that are, I think, the best and the smartest, the brightest, and they’re going to give us some ideas. “
American sports franchises did not avoid membership, as Trump had announced the NBA, NFL and MLB leaders who were part of the group while New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was also named .
Trump has yet to reveal which members will play certain roles and what those roles will entail entirely.
At the press conference, Trump revealed the importance of sport after the COVID-19 epidemic.
He said, “We have to go back to our sports, I’m tired of watching baseball games that are 14 years old. I haven’t really had too much time watching – I might say I watch a batter and then I get back to work. “
The White House issued a press release which read: “These bipartisan groups of American leaders will work with the White House to chart the way forward for an unprecedented future of American prosperity. “
