Why PMFBY not being implemented in Gujarat, Minister asks Bandi Sanjay

Minister for Finance T Harish Rao

Hyderabad, March 24 (NSS): Stepping up his attack on BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay over politicising the matter of compensation to farmers, Minister for Finance T Harish Rao questioned the BJP leader why Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is not being implemented in Narendra Modi’s own state of Gujarat.

In a tweet here on Friday, Minister Harish Rao said that the PMFBY scheme was not scientific and there were many flaws in the scheme that is the reason 10 States, including Gujarat  and 5 union territories are not implementing the PMFBY.

He pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had proved once again that he is a real son of a farmer by announcing the compensation of Rs.10,000 per acre to farmers affected by unseasonal rains.

The Minister said the BJP leader,Bandi Sanjay, didn’t have any right to speak for farmers as the BJP government at the Centre was doing nothing for the farmer community in the country.

“Under the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, only few persons like Adani got benefited and only their income has doubled. No section is happy with the BJP’s government,” Harish Rao alleged.
